Here is another AR/VR simulator that can train plant personnel and industrial workers faster. Honeywell’s advanced training solution uses mixed reality with data analytics for interactive training. It is based on Microsoft’s HoloLens.

Trainees will be able to see the impact of their decisions safely. According to the company, this approach reduces the length of technical training by up to 66%.

Acer Windows Mixed Reality Headset Coming on October 17

By the end of this year, we are going to have a bunch of cool mixed reality headsets for Windows to play with. The Acer Windows Mixed Reality Headset is expected to start shipping starting October 17. It has a 2.89″ display with 1,440 x 1,440 per eye.

Tracking is handled with an inside B+W VGA camera, gyroscope, accelerometer, and magnetometer.

The HoloLens is a wonderful mixed reality headset that has applications in education, medical, and other fields. As this video shows, the technology can be used to transform CT scans into 3D models, providing surgeons with 3D anatomical holograms to plan operations.
