As the patent document explains, this device will have an adjustable band. The wearer will also be able to adjust the display. Sounds like a decent upgrade over the original GLASS, but will it catch fire like Google wants? That remains to be seen.

As 9to5google has reported, Google is already showing Google GLASS prototypes to select partners. It does seem Google has a new team in place and changes are afoot.

For now, Google remains focused on GLASS at Work. The next generation of GLASS is expected to be a more polished product before it is put in the public eye. The bad news is you can’t buy a new GLASS yet. The good news is Google is not killing off the project completely.

It is no secret that Apple was not impressed with Google GLASS when it was released. Even when Google was pushing the device harder, Apple was focused more on its smartwatch plans. Glassalmanac has spotted an interesting comment by Tim Cook, suggesting Apple always knew GLASS would fail:

We always thought that glasses were not a smart move, from a point of view that people would not really want to wear them. They were intrusive, instead of pushing technology to the background, as we’ve always believed. We always thought it would flop, and, you know, so far it has.
Tim Cook’s comments were in a profile of Jony Ive that was published in the New Yorker recently. GLASS is not completely dead though. It will be used by businesses before getting refined and improved to attract the average consumer. That could take a while.

MindRDR provides visual feedback to users, so they will know how close they are to making a decision. It is nice to share photos on Facebook with this, but its applications in the medical industry are even more exciting. In the future, we will be able to interact with digital devices only by thinking about them. Now that’s exciting.
